Any information that you provide online will be kept confidential and will not be made public without your prior written consent. The Wellness Place will only keep your data as long as you are happy for us to do so.
The Wellness Place holds personal data under the following permitted reasons provided by the GDPR- so one of these reasons will apply to your data:
(a) Consent: the individual has given clear consent for The Wellness Place to process their personal data for a specific purpose, for example: the client has input their details to attend a class and make use of our services or where the client has signed up to our newsletter.
(b) Contract: the processing is necessary for a membership contract The Wellness Place has with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.
(c) Legal obligation: the processing is necessary for The Wellness Place to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations).
(d) Vital interests: the processing is necessary to protect someone’s life, for example, next of kin data / emergency contact data in case of emergency.
(e) Public task: the processing is necessary for The Wellness Place to perform a task in the public interest or for our official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law.
(f) Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for The Wellness Place’s legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data which overrides those legitimate interests.
Individual rights
As a data subject, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal data.
Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
In some cases, The Wellness Place may need to ask for proof of identification before the request can be processed. The Wellness Place will inform the individual if it needs to verify his/her identity and the documents it requires.

Data security
The Wellness Place takes the security of personal data seriously. The Wellness Place has internal policies and controls in place to protect personal data against loss, accidental destruction, misuse or disclosure, and to ensure that data is not accessed, except by employees in the proper performance of their duties.
Data breaches
If The Wellness Place discovers that there has been a breach of personal data that poses a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, it will report it to the Information Commissioner within 72 hours of discovery. The Wellness Place will record all data breaches regardless of their effect.
Cookies
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of our website and to compile statistical reports on website activity. You can set your browser not to accept cookies and the above websites will inform you of how to remove cookies from your browser. However, in a few cases, some of our website features may not function.
Marketing
The Wellness Place uses a messaging service through our website provider Wix to send emails to you about wellness information, class updates, cancellations and events. Their procedures and processes fully comply with GDPR and you can inscribe from the mailing list at any time via the link at the bottom any newsletter or email.
How to complain
If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a complaint to us at info@the-wellnessplace.com
You can also complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we have used your data.
